Depth in practice.
Presence in
relationship.
I’m Zohar Berchik, a counsellor, psychotherapist and educator. My work brings together a longstanding clinical practice and the education of those who work closely with human experience.
At its centre is an interest in how we come to understand ourselves, relate to others and change.

An integrative, relational approach
Understanding is more
than an intellectual
exercise.
We can know a great deal about ourselves and still find familiar patterns difficult to shift. Another kind of understanding emerges when we attend to what we feel, how we respond and what happens between us.
Grounded in person-centred and humanistic values, my approach brings experiential attention to emotion together with an understanding of unconscious patterns, relationships and the systems that shape our lives.
Group facilitation is a substantial part of this work. Across therapeutic groups, supervision and professional learning, I attend to both the individual’s experience and what develops between people.
These commitments run through my practice: careful attention, honest reflection and a willingness to stay with what is not yet understood.

Developing the practitioner.
Deepening the work.
Clinical experience and educational leadership inform one another. I work with practitioners developing their relational capacities, and with institutions considering how those capacities can be taught, supported and meaningfully assessed.
